Our McPherson Middle School Flier Cross Country Teams flew fast this Saturday at the first-ever NOC league meet! The boys entered the meet seeded fifth out of 10 teams and finished third overall. Abal Hatfield, Lincoln Prentice, and Elijah Amolsch all made the podium at Hedges-Boyer Park and brought home some hardware. Abal, Lincoln, Elijah, Christian Fretz, Cam Hernandez, Kasper Sawyer, Liam Knieriemen, Ian Mitchell, and Jaxon Tucker all ran personal-best times. Our girls came in third as well, led by Ryleigh Moore and Izzy Rodriguez. The team was missing seventh-grade standout Emme Salazar, who was out sick. Ryleigh, Izzy, Swayze Slayton, and McKenna Gribbons all posted huge personal bests. This wraps up a fun and successful 2026 cross country season for the Middle School Fliers, and their sights are already set on next season. I’m super thankful to have spent the season with such a fine group of young people. The future is bright, not only for Clyde cross country, but also for these kids and all they’ll accomplish in the coming years.
