Boys lose to Perkins

BOYS LOSE TO PERKINS

The Perkins Pirates earned a clean sweep over Clyde on Friday night, highlighted by a 73–55 varsity victory to remain unbeaten on the season. Varsity Perkins jumped out early and never looked back, building a 25–10 lead after one quarter and extending the advantage to 43–23 at halftime. Clyde showed fight in the second half, but the Pirates maintained control to secure the 18-point win. Levi Groot led Perkins with 17 points, going 6-of-12 from the free-throw line. Sam Schweinfurth added 16 points, connecting on four three-pointers. Kellen Glass contributed 12 points, while Perkins showed depth with eight different players scoring. Clyde was led by Oscar Webb, who finished with 21 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. Michael Scruggs followed with 15 points, and Chase Castle added 12. Clyde finished 8-of-17 from the free-throw line. Quarter Scores Clyde: 10 13 19 13 — 55 Perkins: 25 18 16 14 — 73 Perkins improves to 9–0 overall and 3–0 in conference play, while Clyde drops to 4–4 overall and 1–2 in the league. Junior Varsity The Perkins JV squad picked up an 83–51 win over Clyde. Blake Gurney led the Fliers with 12 points. Freshman In a tightly contested game, Perkins edged Clyde 33–32. Breck Wilson paced theFliers with 8 points. Up Next Clyde returns to action on Thursday, January 8, traveling to Sandusky for its next matchup.
