Saturday: 25th Year of the MS Boys Wrestling Invite — Renamed for Larry Norman in 2023
Saturday marks a major milestone as Clyde hosts the 25th year of its Middle School Boys Wrestling Invitational, a tournament long recognized as one of the strongest and deepest youth wrestling events in Northwest Ohio.
In 2023, the invitational was officially renamed in honor of Larry Norman, celebrating his years of dedication, service, and leadership within Clyde wrestling. Now known as the Larry Norman Middle School Boys Invitational, the event continues to build on his legacy by bringing together top middle school wrestlers for a full day of intense, high-level competition.
This year’s 25th edition is expected to be one of the most competitive yet, with large brackets and programs from across the area set to battle for team and individual honors.
Sunday: High School Girls Wrestling Invite Caps the Weekend
The three-day stretch wraps up Sunday with the High School Girls Wrestling Invitational, showcasing many of the region’s best female athletes. As girls wrestling continues its rapid growth statewide, this event offers an important early-season test and plenty of exciting matchups for fans.
A Landmark Weekend for Clyde
With over 600 wrestlers scheduled to compete, this is one of the largest wrestling weekends ever held in Clyde. The district’s tradition of hosting first-class events continues thanks to the hard work of coaches, volunteers, staff, and community partners who make these tournaments possible year after year.
