Ty Newsome is in his first year as the Varsity Boys Golf Coach at Clyde High School, but he brings a wealth of experience across multiple sports and decades of involvement in athletics.

Previously, Newsome coached track at both Clyde and Gibsonburg and basketball in Clyde. In addition to coaching, he has served as a basketball official for nearly 30 years, highlighted by the honor of officiating a state final.

Golf has been a lifelong passion for Newsome. A former Flier golfer himself, he has remained active in the game, including working closely with his own children to develop their skills. He looks forward to strengthening the Clyde golf program and providing a positive, growth-oriented experience for his athletes.
