Jared Shetzer enters his 19th year of coaching and his 2nd season as the Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach at Clyde High School. He previously served as a Varsity Assistant for 2 years and began his coaching career at Clyde in 2003 as a 7th grade assistant.
Before returning to Clyde, Shetzer built an impressive résumé at Bay High School (Bay Village, Ohio) from 2009–2022. During his 9 years as Head Boys Basketball Coach (and 1 year as JV Head Coach), his program achieved remarkable success, including:

Shetzer’s accolades include being nominated for OHSBCA State Coach of the Year (2021), Cleveland.com Coach of the Year (2016), Morning Journal Coach of the Year (2016), and All-Conference Coach of the Year (2015, 2016, 2018, 2021). His overall Varsity coaching record stands at 151–91.
In addition to basketball, Shetzer also coached track (hurdles and jumps), where he mentored Bridget Doughty, a multi-time state champion in the 300 hurdles, as well as an assistant in softball (3 years), girls golf (5 years), and football (5 years across multiple roles).
Earlier in his career, Shetzer was the 7th grade basketball head coach at Genoa Middle School (2007–2008).
Beyond school athletics, Shetzer also spent four years (2016–2020) working with the Cleveland Cavaliers as a Cavs Academy Coach, and he has coached numerous collegiate athletes, including one current NFL player.
